Happy New Year and welcome to the newest section of Yes Queen… Broke & Bougie!
After experimenting with doing DIY projects last summer over my Insta, and seeing a huge interest in my projects and creations, I decided to make it a permanent part of the Yes Queen brand for the new year.
As a grad student who will have a million years of student debt to repay after graduation, ya girl is definitely on a limited shopping budget from now until… maybe eternity? But I like to believe that just because I have limited funds does not mean I have to limit my creativity on how to get the nice things I want for an affordable price. So Broke & Bougie will be your new go-to place to get tips, tricks, and reviews for all things home, beauty, and shopping related for those like me with champagne tastes on a happy hour budget!
It will feature DIY projects, room organization tips, round ups of my favorite products, advice, or hacks for shopping on a budget, and product reviews to help you know what’s really worth spending your coin on.
And because Yes Queen is all about helping you develop into being your best self, all of this information will be presented in a way that is meant to build your shopping and style confidence.
A huge part of being able to feel confident in oneself is the ability to have trust, especially in the things that you buy. There’s way too much cheap shit out there from people who only want your money, and are not interested in providing you with real value.
So with Broke & Bougie, my goal will be to help you discover great products or projects that meet both your taste and your budget.

I was very lucky to grow up in a family that reminded me that having nice things had less to do with budgets than we think, and everything to do with our mindsets. And it is with this Broke & Bougie mindset that I’ve not only been able to get amazing deals on nice things, but it’s also given me an extreme wealth of self-confidence over my finances that I can’t wait to share with you!
