Daysha's Palm Springs Birthday/Graduation Extravaganza
So ya big sistah auntie queen just hit two major milestones…
I turned 29 (which is huge to me considering it feels like everyone is dying of COVID)
I finished a 3-year masters program in playwriting!!!
To honor both of these important milestones, I decided to throw one epic gathering in Palm Springs with a few close friends.
And I have to say it was one of the best birthday/graduation parties I could have ever asked for.
I’m usually terrible at honoring my hard work or big accomplishments in my life. But I also understand that when you don’t time to recognize the amazing contributions you make to the world or what you had to go through to accomplish something super important to you, it can make you really sad and sometimes even a little bitter.
And it’s always great when people in your life show you love for your hard work, but how can they know if we don’t show up and let them know?
This is why I created #FeelingMyselfFriday on social media. I wanted to cultivate a space for people to practice shouting out their accomplishments and receiving the praise they deserve. Every first Friday on Instagram, I even do a livestream where you can shout it out to the group live and we shout out “YAAASS QUEEN” to celebrate you.
It has truly been one of the most rewarding parts of running Yes Queen, and by doing this practice I have definitely seen the benefits of it in my own life.
This birthday-graduation party weekend will truly be one of my most cherished trips and I feel so lucky to have such an amazing Queendom that is always there to lift me up and celebrate all that I accomplish.
